An article published this week in the Detroit Free Press, by Kathleen Gray, Pot for pets: Here's how vets and others say
it can help, discusses the gray area of CBD infused oils for both human and
animal treatment. With the passing of the farm bill last
year, regulation guidelines are still being developed. When it crosses
over into the veterinary field, it becomes more complicated. Each state has
their own laws and many veterinarians are not legally
allowed to talk about this treatment.
Scientific research with CBD oil on animals is still in its
infancy, but seems to be showing promising results. The Free Press article mentions a study by Cornell University's College of Veterinary
Medicine which shows progress for pain relief while Colorado State
University has a clinical trial with positive results of treating epileptic
dogs with CBD.
