Field Biology Class trip to Pine Jog

The biology class made a visit to the Pine Jog Environmental Center where we learned what the center was all about. We were introduced to staff scientists and got to explore their new wet lab before heading out to the forest in search of ants. The students learned proper ant collecting protocols, while learning about different ant species. Here are a few images of the class in action; with Professor Dr. Jim Wetterer (aka Ant Expert) leading the way.

Did you know that a myrmecologist studies ants? You can search the library databases to learn more about ants or any other topics of interest by going to Searchwise.
